Mechanism Of Action Of Ezetimibe / Simvastatin

• Ezetimibe inhibits the absorption of cholesterol at the brush border of the small intestine, reducing the amount of cholesterol delivered to the liver.
• Simvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol production in the liver, thus lowering LDL cholesterol levels.

Therapeutic Indications Of Lunia

• Primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous familial and non-familial).
• Mixed hyperlipidemia (elevated LDL and triglycerides).
• Reduction of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, as an adjunct to diet and other lipid-lowering treatments.

Method Of Administration Of Lunia

• Take one tablet once daily in the evening, with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Should be used as part of a cholesterol-lowering diet plan.
