Mechanism Of Action Of Dapagliflozin

  • Dapagliflozin inhibits sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) in the proximal renal tubules, reducing glucose reabsorption and increasing urinary glucose excretion.
  • This helps lower blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Therapeutic Indications Of Dapazin

  • Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
  • Reduction of risk of hospitalization for heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.
  • Treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) to slow progression and reduce risk of cardiovascular death.

Method Of Administration Of Dapazin

  • Take one tablet (10 mg) orally once daily, with or without food.
  • Dosage may be adjusted based on individual patient factors and renal function.
  • Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Undesirable Side Effects Of Dapazin

May cause:

  1. Urinary tract infections
  2. Genital fungal infections
  3. Increased urination
