- Dabigatran is a direct thrombin inhibitor that prevents the formation of thrombin, an enzyme involved in blood clot formation.
Therapeutic Indications Of Dabitran Dabigatran 150 Mg Capsules
- Used in cases of:
- Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
- Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
- Prevention of recurrent deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
Method Of Administration Of Dabitran Dabigatran 150 Mg Capsules
- For prevention of stroke and blood clots in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation: Adults—150 milligrams (mg) twice daily.
- Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
