Mechanism Of Action Of Bimatoprost and Timolol
- Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analog that lowers intraocular pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor from the eye, while timolol is a beta-blocker that reduces the production of aqueous humor. The combination of these two agents is used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

- Used in case of Reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Method Of Administration Of Ganfort Bimatoprost And Timolol Eye Drops
- The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening
- The patient should tilt their head back and pull down their lower eyelid to create a pocket
- The drop should be applied to the pocket without touching the eye or eyelid with the tip of the dropper.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
