Mechanism Of Action Of Cefdinir
- Cefdinir is a cephalosporin. Like penicillins, it is a beta-lactam antibiotic. It acts By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall thus it inhibits the bacterial cell wall synthesis.
- Without a cell wall, a bacterial cell is vulnerable to outside water and molecular pressures, which causes the cell to quickly die.

- Cefdinir is indicated in the treatment of the following infections:
- Respiratory tract infections; community-acquired pneumonia, acute maxillary sinusitis
- Skin and skin structure infections
Method Of Administration Of Minocet Suspension
- Cefdinir is for oral use
- Adults: 300 mg twice daily
- Dose adjustment is required in case of renal impairment
- Pediatric population, older than 6 months: The recommended daily dosage for children is 7 mg/kg twice daily
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
