- Belimumab is a monoclonal antibody that suppresses the activity of B-lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS), a protein that helps activate B cells. By inhibiting BLyS, belimumab reduces the number of autoreactive B cells and the production of autoantibodies in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

- Used in case of Treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus in adult patients.
Method Of Administration Of Benlysta Belimumab 120 Mg Vial
- The recommended dose is 10 mg/kg given as an intravenous infusion over a period of 1 hour on days 0, 14, and 28, and then every 28 days thereafter
- The dose should not exceed 120 mg per infusion.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
