Mechanism Of Action Of Brexpiprazole

• Although the mechanism of action of brexpiprazole in the treatment of MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) and schizophrenia is unclear, the efficacy of brexpiprazole may be attributed to partial agonist activity at serotonin 1A and dopamine D2 receptors, and antagonist activity at serotonin 2A receptors.

Therapeutic Indications Of Rexulti 3 Mg Tablets

• Rexulti is a prescription medicine used to treat:

1. Major depressive disorder (NDD): rexulti is used with antidepressant medicines when your healthcare provider determines that an antidepressant alone is not enough to treat your depression.
2. Schizophrenia

Method Of Administration Of Rexulti 3 Mg Tablets

• Take rexulti exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take it.
• Do not change the dose or stop taking rexulti yourself.
• Rexulti can be taken with or without food.
• Adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder:

1. The recommended starting dosage for brexpiprazole as adjunctive treatment is 0.5 mg or 1 mg once daily, taken orally with or without food.
2. Titrate to 1 mg once daily, then up to the target dosage of 2 mg once daily.
3. Dosage increases should occur at weekly intervals based on the patient’s clinical response and tolerability.
4. The maximum recommended daily dosage is 3 mg.
5. Periodically reassess to determine the continued need and appropriate dosage for treatment.

• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
