Mechanism Of Action Of Basiliximab

• Basiliximab is a monoclonal antibody that targets and blocks the activation of interleukin-2 receptors on the surface of activated T lymphocytes. By blocking this activation, basiliximab inhibits the proliferation of T lymphocytes and reduces the risk of acute rejection in organ transplant patients.

Therapeutic Indications Of  Simulect Basiliximab 20 Mg Vial

• Used in case of Prophylaxis of acute transplant rejection in patients receiving renal transplant.

Method Of Administration Of Simulect Basiliximab 20 Mg Vial

• The recommended dose is 20 mg as a single intravenous injection within 2 hours before transplantation and 4 days after transplantation
• The injection should be administered slowly over 20 to 30 minutes.
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
