Mechanism Of Action Of Oseltamivir
- Oseltamivir inhibits the neuraminidase enzyme, which is expressed on the viral surface.
- Neuraminidase enzyme promotes the release of virus from infected cells and facilitates viral movement within the respiratory tract.
Therapeutic Indications Of Oselta 75 Mg Capsules
- It is used for the treatment of influenza in patients 1 year of age and older who have been experiencing symptoms for no more than 48 hours
- It is used to prevent influenza in patients who are 1 year of age and older.
- Influenza is a respiratory viral infection that is also known as the flu, it is manifested by signs and symptoms like fever, chills, sore throat, cough, stuffy or runny nose, headaches, fatigue, and body aches.
Method Of Administration Of Oselta 75 Mg Capsules
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Make sure to take the complete treatment even if you start feeling better.
- Take a capsule with or without food.
- If you experience stomach aches, you can take the medication with milk or a light meal.
- Take a capsule with a full glass of water.
- Take it at the same time every day.
- Do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not stop taking your medication prior to the end of the prescribed duration even if you start feeling better. To treat the flu: Take oseltamivir orally twice a day for 5 days, once in the morning and once in the evening.
- To prevent the flu if someone at your home has the flu: Take oseltamivir orally once a day for 10 days or for as long as prescribed by your doctor.
- To prevent the flu if you were exposed to the flu due to an outbreak in your community: Take oseltamivir orally once a day for up to 6 weeks. Follow your specific doctor’s directions.
