Product Description

Product Name

  • Sevikar 40/5, Reduce Blood Pressure, Prevent Hypertension Complication - 28 Tablets

Scientific Name

  • Olmesartan 40 Mg + Amlodipine 10 Mg Tablets

Category Of Sevikar 40/5 Tablets

  • Anti-Hypertensive Drugs

Mechanism Of Action Of Olmesartan & Amlodipine

  • Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict.
  • As a result, Olmesartan relaxes the blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart.
  • Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx across cell membranes, with a greater effect on vascular smooth muscle cells. This causes vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, thus lowering blood pressure.

Therapeutic Indications Of Sevikar 40/5 Tablets

  • It is indicated in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on Olmesartan or amlodipine monotherapy
  • High blood pressure is a common condition in which the long-term force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.
  • Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.
