Category Of Clexane

• Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH) - Anticoagulant

Mechanism Of Action Of Enoxaparin

• Binds to antithrombin III and accelerates its inhibition of activated Factor Xa and thrombin (Factor IIa).
• This prevents the formation of fibrin clots and reduces the risk of thrombosis.

Therapeutic Indications Of Clexane

• Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), especially in patients undergoing surgery or immobilized due to illness.
• Treatment of DVT and pulmonary embolism (PE).
• Acute coronary syndromes, including unstable angina and non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
• Prevention of clot formation during hemodialysis.

Method Of Administration Of Clexane

• Subcutaneous injection (under the skin), usually in the abdomen.
• Administer at the same time each day if prescribed regularly.
• Do not inject into muscle or near scars or bruises.
• Do not rub the injection site after administration.

Undesirable Side Effects Of Clexane

May cause:

1. Bleeding (including nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or injection site bleeding)
2. Injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling)
3. Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia)
4. Elevated liver enzymes
5. Headache
