• Bupropion is a norepinephrine/dopamine-reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) that exerts its pharmacological effects by weakly inhibiting the enzymes involved in the uptake of these neurotransmitters from the synaptic cleft, therefore prolonging their duration of action within the neuronal synapse

Therapeutic Indications Of Wellbutrin XL 150 Mg Tablets

• Bupropion is indicated for the treatment of the major depressive disorder (MDD), as defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).
• Depression is a continuing disturbance of mood that interferes with everyday life.
• The symptoms of depression vary from one person to another, but often include deep sadness, feelings of worthlessness, loss of interest in favorite activities, sleep disturbances, feeling of being slowed down, feelings of anxiety, and changes in weight.

Method Of Administration Of Wellbutrin XL 150 Mg Tablets

• Take this medicine by mouth.
• Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. Do not chew your tablets.
• Take with or without food.
• If you feel the effect of your medicine is too weak or too strong, do not change the dose yourself, but ask your doctor.
• The amount of this medicine you take will depend on your illness. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
• The usual adult target dose is 300 mg/day, given as 150 mg twice daily. Initiate dosing with 150 mg/day given as a single daily dose in the morning.
• After 3 days of dosing, the dose may be increased to the 300 mg/day target dose, given as 150 mg twice daily. There should be an interval of at least 8 hours between successive doses.
• Doses may increase to 400 mg if needed
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

• Neuropsychiatric adverse events during smoking cessation

• Hypertension: can increase blood pressure. Monitor blood pressure before initiating treatment and periodically during treatment
