Mechanism Of Action Of Clopidogrel

• Inhibits platelet aggregation by irreversibly blocking the P2Y12 component of ADP receptors on the platelet surface.
• This prevents activation of the GPIIb/IIIa receptor complex, reducing the ability of platelets to stick together and form clots.

Therapeutic Indications Of Pedovex

• Prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with recent myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease.
• Used with aspirin in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including unstable angina and non-ST segment elevation MI (NSTEMI).
• Prevention of stent thrombosis after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Method Of Administration Of Pedovex

• Oral administration.
• Can be taken with or without food.
• Usually prescribed as 75 mg once daily.
• In acute cases (e.g. ACS), an initial loading dose of 300 mg may be used, followed by 75 mg daily.
