Product Description

Product Name

  • Olopat, Eye Drops, Anti-Allergic - 5 Ml

Scientific Name

  • Olopatadine Eye Drops

Category Of Olopat Eye Drops

  • Anti-allergic Eye Product

Mechanism Of Action Of Olopatadine Eye Drops

  • It inhibits histamine release from mast cells and is a relatively selective antagonist of H1-receptors. As a result, olopatadine prevents type 1 immediate hypersensitivity reactions. Topical ocular administration relieves the ocular pruritus associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Therapeutic Indications Of Olopat Eye Drops

  • Olopatadine eye drop is a medicine for treatment and control of allergic conditions of the eye. It works in two different ways by reducing and controlling the intensity of the allergic reaction.
  • Olopatadine eye drop is used for the treatment of itchy eyes associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
  • Allergic conjunctivitis: Some materials (allergens) like pollens, house dust or animal fur may cause allergic reactions resulting in itching, redness as well as swelling of the surface of your eye.

Method Of Administration Of Olopat Eye Drops

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
  • Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • To apply eye drops, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
  • If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using eye drops. Wait at least 10 minutes before replacing your contact lenses. Tilt your head back, look upward, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and place one drop into the pouch. Look downward, gently close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye (near the nose). Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye. If directed to use this medication in both eyes, repeat these steps for your other eye. Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use.
  • If you are using another kind of eye medication (such as drops or ointments), wait at least 5 minutes before applying other medications. Use eye drops before eye ointments to allow the drops to enter the eye.
  • Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it.
  • To help you remember, use it at the same time(s) each day.
  • If your condition lasts or gets worse, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, get medical help right away.
  • Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
