  • The novel antidepressant mirtazapine has a dual mode of action.
  • It is a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA) that acts by antagonizing the adrenergic alpha2 as well as by blocking 5-HT2 and 5-HT3 receptors.

  • It is used to treat depression.

Method Of Administration Of Mirzagen 15 Mg Tablets

  • Take this medicine by mouth.
  • Swallow the drug whole with a drink of water. Do not chew it.
  • Take before a meal or with a meal
  • If you feel the effect of your medicine is too weak or too strong, do not change the dose yourself, but ask your doctor.
  • It may take up to 2 weeks to show the result
  • The amount of the drug you take will depend on your illness. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
  • The recommended starting dose is 15 or 30 mg every day.

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Mirzagen 15 Mg Tablets

  • seizures (epilepsy). If you develop seizures or your seizures become more frequent, stop taking Mirtazapine and contact your doctor immediately
  • liver disease, including jaundice. If jaundice occurs, stop taking Mirtazapine and contact your doctor immediately
  • If psychotic symptoms, such as paranoid thoughts become more frequent or severe, contact your doctor straight away
  • manic depression (alternating periods of feeling elated/overactivity and depressed mood). If you start feeling elated or over-excited, stop taking Mirtazapine and contact your doctor immediately
  • Tell your doctor before you take this drug if you suffer from:
  1. kidney disease
  2. heart disease
  3. low blood pressure
  4. diabetes (you may need to adjust your dose of insulin or other antidiabetic medicines)
  5. eye disease, such as increased pressure in the eye (glaucoma);
  6. difficulty in passing water (urinating), which might be caused by an enlarged prostate.
  7. certain kinds of heart conditions that may change your heart rhythm, a recent heart attack, heart failure, or taking certain medicines that may affect the heart’s rhythm.
  8. if you develop signs of infection such as inexplicable high fever, sore throat, and mouth ulcers.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.
