Mechanism Of Action Of Pyridostigmine
- It enhances cholinergic effects by increasing acetylcholine levels, fascilitating activation of neuromuscular receptors.
Therapeutic Indications Of Mestinon 60 Mg Tablets
- Mestinon is used for the treatment of myasthenia gravis.
Method Of Administration Of Mestinon 60 Mg Tablets
- Take the medication exactly as recommended by your doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- The usual adult dose is 1/2 to 2 tablets (30 to 120 mg Mestinon) to be taken five to six times daily
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

- Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
- Hypotension, Flushing
- Blurred vision

- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you take the medication:
- If you, or someone in your family, have or have had any heart problems.
- If you have low blood pressure.
- If you have had a stroke, especially if you are elderly.
- If you have problems with your liver.
- If you have ever had a fit (seizure).
- If you have diabetes or have a risk of getting diabetes.
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.
