Mechanism Of Action Of Terbinafine
- Terbinafine inhibits the enzyme squalene monooxygenase. This inhibition leads to decreased ergosterol, which would normally be incorporated into the cell wall, and accumulation of squalene.
- The generation of a large number of squalene-containing vesicles in the cytoplasm may leach other lipids away from, and further weaken, the cell wall.

- Terbinafine tablets are used for the treatment of fungal infections of:
- The groin area.
- The skin
- Toe and fingernails (yellow, opaque, and thickened nails).
- The feet (athlete’s foot).
Method Of Administration Of Lamifen 250 Mg Tablets
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Swallow the tablets with water.
- The usual dose for adults, including the elderly, is 250 mg once a day.
- The dosing may depend on the site and severity of your infection.
