Mechanism Of Action Of Nizatidine
- Nizatidine is an H2 receptor antagonist used to treat ulcers.
- Nizatidine inhibits the binding of histamine to the H2-receptors on the gastric membrane of parietal cells, reducing gastric acid secretions and ulcer formation
Therapeutic Indications Of Fixit 150 Mg Capsules
- Heals and stops ulcers in the stomach, or the part where it empties into the small intestine
- Heals and stops problems caused by acid reflux in the esophagus
- Reduces pain or discomfort known as indigestion, acid reflux or heartburn
- Prevents ulcers which may be caused by nsaid (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) treatment i.e. Ibuprofen, diclofenac, often used as analgesic
Method Of Administration Of Fixit 150 Mg Capsules
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take and how long to take them. This will depend on your condition and how old you are.
- For stomach or duodenal ulcers: The recommended dose is 150 mg in the morning and 150 mg in the evening or 300 mg taken as a single dose in the evening for 4 weeks.
- To treat indigestion, acid reflux, heartburn: The recommended dose is 150 mg to 300 mg taken twice a day for up to 12 weeks
- Nizatidine should not be given to children or adolescents.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
