Mechanism Of Action Of Famotidine

  • Famotidine is an H2 receptor antagonist used to treat ulcers.
  • Famotidine inhibits the binding of histamine to the H2-receptors on the gastric membrane of parietal cells, reducing gastric acid secretions and ulcer formation

 

Therapeutic Indications Of Famodar 20 Mg Tablets

  • Heals and stops ulcers in the stomach, or the part where it empties into the small intestine
  • Heals and stops problems caused by acid reflux in the esophagus
  • Reduces pain or discomfort known as indigestion, acid reflux or heartburn
  • Prevents ulcers which may be caused by nsaid (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) treatment i.e. Ibuprofen, diclofenac, often used as analgesic

 

Method Of Administration Of Famodar 20 Mg Tablets

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
  • Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take and how long to take them. This will depend on your condition and how old you are.
  • Usual dose: 20 to 40 mg orally 2 times a day
  • Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

  6. If you suffer of bronchial asthma
