Mechanism Of Action Of Erythromycin
- Erythromycin is in a class of medications called macrolide antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
- Erythromycin prevents bacteria from multiplying by acting as a protein synthesis inhibitor.
Therapeutic Indications Of Erythrodar 250 Mg Tablets
- Erythromycin Tablets are used to prevent and treat infections such as:
- Throat and sinus infections.
- Chest infections, such as bronchitis and pneumonia.
- Ear infections.
- Mouth and dental infections.
- Eye infections.
- Skin and tissue infections, such as acne.
- Stomach and intestinal infections.
- Prevention of infection following burns, operations, or dental procedures.
- Other infections, such as sexually transmitted diseases, bone infections, or scarlet fever.
Method Of Administration Of Erythrodar 250 Mg Tablets
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- For adults and children over 8 years: One (250 mg) tablet every 4 to 6 hours.
- If you have a bad infection you may be told to take up to 4 g daily.
- Erythromycin Tablets are not for use in children under 8 years.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
Undesirable Side Effects Of Erythrodar 250 Mg Tablets
- Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
- Difficulty breathing
- Fainting
- Swelling of the face, lips, or throat
- Skin rashes
- Severe skin reactions including large fluid-filled blisters, sores, and ulcers
- Ulcers in the mouth and throat

- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
- Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding

- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.

- Store below 25°c
- Don’t refrigerate
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
Normal Ranges
- The average normal oral temperature is 98.6°F (37°C).
- A rectal temperature is 0.5 F (0.3 C) to 1 F (0.6 C) higher than an oral temperature.
- An ear (tympanic) temperature is 0.5 F (0.3 C) to 1 F (0.6 C) higher than an oral temperature.
