Mechanism Of Action Of Etamsylate
- Ethamsylate acts on the first step of hemostasis by improving platelet adhesiveness and restoring capillary resistance.
Therapeutic Indications Of Dicynone 500 Mg Tablets
- Etamsylate is used in adults and children above one year of age for the prevention and treatment of bleeding
- heavy periods in women
- gastrointestinal bleeding
- haemorrhagic urinary disorders after having an operation on your prostate gland or urinary tract after having an operation on your ear, nose or throat after having heart, abdominal or gynecological surgery
- bleeding after you have been treated with another medicine to break down blood clots
Method Of Administration Of Dicynone 500 Mg Tablets
- Treatment of Local Fibrinolysis: The usual dose is 500-1000mg three times a day.
- Treatment of General Fibrinolysis: The usual dose is 1000mg every 6 to 8 hours, or up to 15mg per kg of body weight.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
