Mechanism Of Action Of Nifedipine

• Nifedipine works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into smooth muscle and myocardial cells, which leads to relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and decreased peripheral vascular resistance.
• This results in lower blood pressure and improved oxygen delivery to the heart muscle.
